Visualizing Music
The idea of bringing music to life through visuals has always been a passion of mine. However, finding the right collaborators was a challenge, and I had to put the project on hold for a while. Until 2024, when I met two exceptionally talented young visual artists, Shi Shengjie and Rustyhead. With them, the time finally felt right, and the Audio-Visual project was born.

Shanghai
The DNS*Shengjie Shi collaboration began at the 1st anniversary performance of Shanghai’s iconic Club - Trigger. The performance was entirely improvised, with the ambient sounds of my synthesizers being captured in real-time by Shengjie. Using his technical expertise, he processed these sounds and transformed them into a mesmerizing visual experience projected onto the screen. It was a truly magical process—no matter how intense the roar of my 700FM synthesizer, each sound found its own unique expression.

Tokyo
In Tokyo, the DNS*Rustyhead collaboration took place at the renowned Kagurane club, known for its exceptional sound environment. During a special performance that combined visual art and music, Rustyhead and I co-created a 25-minute piece inspired by his field research. In this study, he spoke with a survivor of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. That survivor later returned to Fukushima to revisit the ruins of their home, destroyed by the tsunami, and captured a powerful archive of footage. From these stories and images, we crafted a piece divided into three chapters: disaster, struggle, and hope. The work serves as a poignant reminder of our fragility in the face of disaster, but also of how hope can guide us forward.
